International Baccalaureate and Advanced Placement at Royal High School

Homeland Security and International Bacculaurate Programs are Just Two of the

Royal High School combines a strong International Baccalaureate Pathway with languages such as Mandarin, that are embedded in model citizenry through their Reagan Library partnership and outstanding sports programs. Royal is also home to an award winning Marching Band and youth Orchestra.

Santa Susana High School focused on accelerated academics, technology, and the visual and performing arts. In 2017-2018, they add a Psychobiology Pathway. Here is The Little Mermaid performed, Spring 2017.

Students join Simi Valley Schools for our outstanding programs. For example, the Musical Theater Program (below), part of our secondary school Pathways and Connected Learning, is one of the many programs bringing families from out of district. Inter-district Transfers INTO Simi Valley USD

Parents of students who reside outside of the Simi Valley USD boundaries who wish to attend a Simi Valley USD school will need to complete an Inter-district Transfer Agreement. This form must be obtained from and submitted to your local school district of residence for approval to leave your district.  After you have been released from your district, submit the signed Agreement to the Simi Valley USD Student Support Services Office. 


 For information about any Simi Valley USD school, click on the “Schools” tab at the top of the Simi Valley USD web page. To learn more about our amazing programs, you may also contact the Simi Valley school of interest to you for a Campus Tour. Our principals and teachers are excited to share their programs and community. Last, schools will be open for evening preview nights starting in December. Specific dates will soon be posted on our calendar. 


Inter-district Transfers OUT of Simi Valley USD

Parents of students who reside inside of the Simi Valley USD boundaries and wish to transfer to a public school outside of the Simi Valley USD will need to complete an Inter-district Transfer Agreement. Return the form to Student Support Services at our District Office with supporting documentation. Once approved, should you intend on attending a different school than the one you applied for, we ask you submit a new Agreement for approval to the new school.


Transfer Requests are accepted continuously. Expect 1-2 weeks for processing.

Middle School Mock Trial Competition & Legal Practice Pathway


In 2016-2017, Hillside Middle School teacher Gwenn Reep, leads the charge with community partners to start the first annual Ventura County Middle School Mock Trail Competition at the East Ventura County Courthouse. The Ventura County Office of Education, Santa Susana Mock Trail, and attorney coaches assisted. Curriculum focused on public speaking, research, analysis argumentation, and acting.
