INTERDISTRICT TRANSFERS INTO SVUSD

Simi Valley Schools welcome you! Parents of students who live outside of the SVUSD boundaries who wish to attend an SVUSD school will:

  1. Complete an Interdistrict Transfer Agreement Form obtained from your district of residence, (LAUSD/Ventura County)
  2. Submit the Form to your district of residence for approval. Should your approval not be approved, you can appeal to the county office. For appeals to LAUSD, contact the Los Angeles County Office of Education HERE.
  3. Submit the approved permit to SVUSD in person or via e-mail to elba.balarezo@simivalleyusd.org.
  4. Processing takes up to two weeks. Approved permits are shared with you and Ventura County districts of residence.

 

INTERDISTRICT TRANSFERS OUT OF SVUSD

Unless there is a specified exception under SVUSD Board Policy 5117 and Administrative Regulation 5117 for the 2018-19 school year, Simi Valley Schools accepts Interdistrict Transfer Applications January 7, 2019 through April 2019 for 2019-2020.

  1. Complete the Interdistrict Transfer Form available HERE (English/Spanish).
  2. Submit your completed application and supporting documentation for each reason (as described in the "Documentation Required" on the back of the form) in person OR via e-mail elba.balarezo@simivalleyusd.org.
  3. Processing takes up to two weeks from the date your completed application is received.

Requests are considered in alignment with local board policies, administrative regulations and on individual merit. Terms and Conditions are described on the back of the request form. The appeal process begins in SVUSD's Educational Services and then to the County Board of Education within 30 days from the date of the final denial. Incomplete applications will not be processed.

Interdistrict applications are available January 7 through the last Friday in April of each school year.
